This is a fine-scale or geometric pattern deposited on a colorless, transparent glass substrate. The magnified image (real image) obtained by the objective lens is usually focused at a predetermined position within the eyepiece lens barrel. The reticle is fixed at this position, and the image from the objective lens is superimposed with the pattern of the reticle as viewed through the eyepiece. We have prepared reticles with outer diameters of 21mm (#51031, #51032) and 19mm (#54423, #54424) to match the eyepiece lens being used.
